Finding a Provider

ZocDoc or PsychologyToday are great resources for finding a mental healthcare provider. Customize your search settings to find a provider that fits your needs, preferences, and personality. Be sure to filter the search by your insurance coverage to find an in-network provider. Psychiatrists and PMHNP’s are able to prescribe medications to reach baseline if you are struggling to carry out daily functions. Psychologists and LCSWs provide additional support through various forms of talk therapy.

National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network

Inclusive Therapists offer a safer, simpler way to find a culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming, social justice-oriented therapist.

Therapy for Black Men - Directory to assist men of color in their search for a therapist

Therapy for Black Girls - Podcast, blog & virtual safe space

BetterHelp - Virtual therapy by text, phone or video session for those who may be new to therapy and uncomfortable with traditional methods. This form of therapy is not covered by insurance and is often more costly. If you are actively in crisis or feel your mental state affects your daily life please consider a higher level of care.

TalkSpace - Similar to BetterHelp, TalkSpace provides virtual therapy. Accepts insurance coverage by some networks.

Sanvello is an application that can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play providing self-care activities, coaching, therapy, and peer support based on cognitive-behavioral science. Self-care activities are available for free with download. Additional services have limited insurance coverage and may be more costly than other forms of therapy.
